Watertown, S.D.-based Prairie Lakes Healthcare System will begin transitioning its name and branding to Sanford Health Watertown in late June after the system merged in October with Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health.
The phased rebranding is part of the two parties’ Together for Good campaign, according to a May 22 system news release.
Under the rebranding:
- Prairie Lakes Healthcare System will become Sanford Health Watertown.
- Watertown-based Prairie Lakes Cancer Center will be Sanford Watertown Cancer Center.
- Watertown-based Prairie Lakes Hospital will be Sanford Watertown Medical Center.
- Watertown-based Prairie Lakes Specialty Clinic will be Sanford Watertown Specialty Clinic.
- Watertown-based Prairie Lakes Brown Clinic Main will be Sanford Health Hwy 81 Clinic.
- Watertown-based Prairie Lakes Brown Clinic Northridge will be Sanford Health Northridge Clinic.
- Prairie Lakes Castlewood (N.D.) Clinic will be Sanford Health Castlewood Clinic.
Prairie Lakes Cancer Center will be the first to transition under the rebranding.
“This change reflects more than a name update — it represents the next chapter of our shared future and the strength of what we are building together,” John Allen, president and CEO of Prairie Lakes Healthcare System, said in the release. “I also want to acknowledge what the Prairie Lakes name represents. It reflects decades of exceptional care, strong relationships and deep community pride. This legacy does not go away. It becomes part of the foundation we carry forward as Sanford Health Watertown.”
