Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health has signed a $10 million, 20-year naming rights and partnership agreement with Rapid City, S.D., and the Rapid City Sports Commission for a new community sports complex.

The agreement begins in 2027 and gives Sanford Health naming recognition plus dedicated space within the facility, located on a 22-acre site, for sports medicine and sports performance programming.

Kyle Wiese, president and CEO of Sanford Black Hills, called the agreement part of Sanford Health’s commitment to the region since its Black Hills expansion, per an August news release. Officials aim to break ground this fall, with the facility slated to open in 2029.

The deal extends Sanford Health’s sports marketing footprint beyond its 500-acre Sanford Sports Complex in Sioux Falls, S.D., and its Fargo Parks Sports Center partnership in Fargo, N.D. Sanford Sports logs more than 1 million athlete contacts annually across South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota.
