Fresno, Calif.-based Saint Agnes, part of Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health, has a new name: Saint Agnes Health.
The change aims to align with the organization’s strategic growth as it has expanded services to provide a full continuum of patient care, according to an Aug. 24 news release.
Saint Agnes has added facilities, specialty services and more advanced technologies, along with a growing physician network, a health plan, a strengthened outpatient presence and outreach to underserved communities, the release said. The organization said its ministry has grown beyond a single hospital and needed a name reflecting that.
Saint Agnes Health will serve as the overarching identity for the organization’s services. Its family of care comprises five main branches: Saint Agnes Medical Center, Saint Agnes Medical Foundation, Saint Agnes Graduate Medical Education, Central Valley Health Plan and connected outreach services.
“While our name is changing to better reflect the growth of our ministry, we remain rooted in our mission, to serve as a healing presence within the Central Valley,” Gurvinder Kaur, MD, president and market leader of Saint Agnes Health, said in the release. “We will continue to serve with compassion, dignity and reverence for every person, be welcoming and inclusive to all who trust us with their care, and honor the healing ministry started by the Sisters of the Holy Cross nearly a century ago.”
Saint Agnes’ history in the Central Valley began with the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1929 with the founding of Saint Agnes Hospital in downtown Fresno, according to the release.
