Regional Medical Center Anniston (Ala.) will be renamed Baptist Health Calhoun Hospital when its acquisition by Orlando (Fla.) Health’s Alabama Region and Baptist Health closes this fall.
The new name will take effect on the first day of the acquisition’s completion. New signage will also be installed at the hospital.
According to a July 13 LinkedIn post from Baptist Health, the new name reflects the hospital’s connection to the Calhoun County community while aligning it with Baptist Health’s integrated system of care.
Orlando Health agreed in April to acquire the nonprofit system, with the deal expected to close this fall pending regulatory approval.
Anniston, Ala.-based RMC Health System includes the 375-bed medical center along with outpatient facilities and specialty practices.
