Orlando Health acquired Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare’s 70% ownership stake in the 1,700-bed system for about $910 million, effective Oct. 1. Orlando Health manages day-to-day operations of the system in partnership with Baptist Health System.
“We are a true faith-based healthcare system, and people will know that simply from hearing our name,” Baptist Health President Thibaut van Marcke said in a Jan. 7 news release. “The name Baptist Health speaks directly to our mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ through holistic, people-centered healthcare.”
The new Baptist Health brand reflects a commitment to community care, with a logo inspired by parent company Orlando Health, according to the health system. The addition of vibrant orange symbolizes vitality and optimism, creating a unique identity while maintaining consistency across the Orlando Health family.
A multimedia campaign, A New Day in Healthcare, highlights the system’s dedication to faith-based, patient-first care, and aims to build trust with central Alabama communities.
