New York City-based Mount Sinai is marking its 14th year as the official healthcare partner of the U.S. Open Tennis Championships.

The health system will deploy orthopedic, sports medicine and emergency care teams at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, N.Y.

Alexis Colvin, MD, a professor of orthopedics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, returns as chief medical officer of the U.S. Open, a role she has held since 2013. Dr. Colvin also serves as team physician for the U.S. Billie Jean King Cup team.

“We are proud to return to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center with a multidisciplinary team of experts from across the Mount Sinai Health System to support the world’s best tennis players throughout the US Open,” Dr. Colvin said in an Aug. 20 news release.

Mount Sinai, one of the largest academic medical systems in New York, has provided medical care for U.S. Open athletes for more than a decade.
