Syracuse, N.Y.-based Crouse Health has signed a three-year, $1.5 million agreement to become the naming sponsor of Onondaga County’s new aquarium.
The venue will be called the Crouse Health Harborview Aquarium when it opens, per a late August news release. The facility is expected to open in October along Syracuse’s Inner Harbor and will feature more than 200 species across marine, freshwater and coastal exhibits, anchored by a 360-degree “Harbor Tunnel” display.
Crouse Health will also partner with the aquarium, the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology and the Rosamond Gifford Zoo on joint STEM and conservation programming, according to county officials.
The health system is licensed for 506 acute-care beds and treats patients from a 14-county region.
