Most digital marketing dollars going to paid channels

Marketers spend most of their digital advertising dollars on paid channels, according to a July 6 KO Marketing article.

About 60 percent of the spend for digital marketing now goes toward paid channels, with social and search advertising being the most popular paid channels. Digital display advertising and digital video advertising are also popular, being allocated 9.3 percent and 8.8 percent of marketing budgets, respectively.

In regards to unpaid channels, SEO and email marketing take up 8.5 percent and 7.8 percent of digital marketing budgets, respectively.
