Boston Medical Center Health System has renamed two Massachusetts hospitals that it acquired as part of Dallas-based Steward Health Care’s 2024 bankruptcy.

Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton has been renamed Boston Medical Center-South, and St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton is now Boston Medical Center-Brighton, according to a May 1 news release from the health system.

The hospitals’ affiliated offsite physician practices will transition to BMC Health. New names and logos will be incorporated into the hospitals’ physical and digital presence in the coming months, the release said.

“We’re really looking forward to how [the brand integration work] strengthens our presence in the market, builds those connections in the communities that we talked about, and expands our footprint and amplifies our mission, which is to deliver clinically excellent care that’s accessible and equitable,” Rachel Felix, BMC senior vice president and chief marketing and growth officer, told Becker’s in February.

BMC Health System assumed operations of the hospitals on Oct. 1. The system received approval to take over the hospitals as part of a $140 million deal during a Sept. 4 U.S. bankruptcy court hearing.
