Huntington, W.Va.-based Marshall Health Network has signed a five-year agreement to have all Marshall University athletes wear a patch with the health system’s logo on their jerseys.

This will be the fourth all-sport jersey patch deal in the NCAA but the first involving a health system. It is also the 11th overall since the NCAA started allowing jersey sponsors in January.

“As an academic health system, we are honored to take care of the Herd — supporting the health, performance and well-being of Marshall student-athletes across every sport,” said Scott Raynes, president and CEO of Marshall Health Network, in a May 1 news release.

Marshall Health Network also became Marshall Athletics’ official healthcare provider.
