Indiana hospital to rebrand after joining Deaconess Health

Jasper, Ind.-based Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center this summer will change its name to Deaconess Memorial Medical Center.

The move comes shortly after the 114-bed hospital affiliated with Evansville, Ind.-based Deaconess Health, a 19-hospital system. The health system solicited feedback from more than 800 community members and hospital employees before announcing the change.

"This alignment strengthens our ability to bring advanced resources, services and technology to our region," Keith Miller, chief administrative officer and president of Deaconess' Indiana region, said in a Jan. 22 news release. "It enhances collaboration across Deaconess facilities and ensures even more specialized care for our patients. This is about enhancing care and access while remaining grounded in the values that have always defined us."

Deaconess includes 19 fully-owned, joint ventures, affiliated or sponsored hospitals across Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky, according to its website
