Here are four things to know:
- Google blocked and removed 3.4 billion advertisements in 2021 that violated its policies, including 652 million ads that were found to have abused the ad network and 286 million that contained adult content.
- In 2021, 5.6 million advertiser accounts were suspended for violations.
- Google also blocked and restricted ads from 1.7 billion publisher pages and about 63,000 publisher sites.
- In 2018, the tech giant removed 2.3 billion ads, a 1 billion increase in 2021.
