Facebook struggling to remove anti-vaccine profile picture frames

Facebook is trying to remove misleading anti-vaccine messaging, but the tech giant is finding that by the time an anti-vaccine profile picture frame has been removed, several others have popped up.

After questioning Facebook about a profile picture frame that read "My immune system works better than the [syringe graphic]", the tech giant told CNBC the frame violated its policy and was removed. However, CNBC searched “immune” in Facebook’s profile picture frame feature after receiving Facebook's message May 14 and found dozens of other anti-vaccine frames.

Many of the frames don't directly contain the word "vaccine." Facebook declined to respond to CNBC's inquiry about whether that makes it easier to evade detection.
