The Atlanta Dream has entered a multi-year partnership with Emory Healthcare, naming the health system the WNBA team’s official healthcare provider and official sports medicine provider.
The collaboration is designed to provide year-round medical care for Dream players while expanding women’s health education and wellness resources throughout metro Atlanta. According to a July 14 news release from the Atlanta Dream, the partnership will combine sports medicine expertise, clinical care and community programming with a broader focus on improving health outcomes for women and girls.
Under the agreement, Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare will provide comprehensive medical care for Dream players through a network of physicians, orthopedic specialists, athletic trainers, rehabilitation experts and performance professionals working alongside the team’s sports medicine staff. The care model will support athletes during practices, games, travel, injury prevention, rehabilitation, performance optimization and the offseason.
The partnership also includes the launch of “The Science Behind Her,” a social media series featuring Emory physicians discussing topics such as nutrition, recovery, hormonal health, mental wellness, injury prevention and sports medicine research.
In addition, the organizations said they will collaborate on community wellness initiatives, including clinics, mobile health screenings and educational programs.
