Fresh off an Emmy win for best drama series, HBO Max’s “The Pitt” has returned to film at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for the series’ second season.
The filming, set for Sept. 17-19, is taking place at the hospital’s LifeFlight helipad, a rooftop with views of the city, and various entryways to the building. Health system officials say the production will not interfere with patient care or operations. Interior scenes are filmed at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, Calif., at a set that mirrors the Pittsburgh hospital.
“The response to ‘The Pitt’ has been overwhelmingly positive, and our employees have been incredibly excited to see their workplace featured on a national stage in such a compelling way,” Allegheny General Hospital President Imran Qadeer, MD, stated in a Sept. 16 news release. “We are proud to welcome the production team back and continue our partnership with this important series, which shines a light on the dedication and resilience of healthcare professionals, and the life-changing impact they have on patients, families and communities.”
“The Pitt” took home Emmys on Sept. 14 for best drama, lead actor, supporting actress, guest actor, and casting. The 15-episode second season is scheduled to premiere in January.
