AHA launches ad urging Congress to protect hospital access

The American Hospital Association has launched a new ad campaign asking Congress to protect access to hospital care as lawmakers consider legislation that the group says could harm patients and communities across the country.

The ad, released June 23, focuses on the critical role hospitals play during emergencies — showing medical teams in action and stressing that hospitals are available 24/7 when lives are on the line.

The campaign includes a television ad airing on broadcast and cable channels in Washington, D.C., along with a series of digital ads.

The AHA did not name specific legislation in the announcement but said the goal of the campaign is to raise awareness about proposed changes in federal policy that could have “far-ranging negative consequences” for patients, hospitals and the communities they serve.
