WebMD Health Services is partnering with digital health company Fern Health to provide digital tools to chronic pain patients.
The new tools will be available through WebMD and include programs for musculoskeletal pain, migraines and fibromyalgia. The Fern Health chronic pain management program was designed in partnership with clinicians at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, according to the Sept. 14 WebMD news release.
"Chronic pain is developed by both psychological and physical factors. Our clinically validated, holistic pain programs deliver meaningful and life-enhancing results for chronic pain sufferers," Fern CEO Brad Lawson said. "Partnering with WebMD Health Services gives us an opportunity to extend the work we do — offering employers and health plans the opportunity to help their employees and plan members live better, more functioning lives, while potentially reducing health costs.
