Renton, Wash.-based Providence and Compassus have expanded their joint venture to provide home health, hospice, palliative and personal care services in California, creating a network of 19 locations across the state.
The new entity will operate as Providence at Home with Compassus, according to an Oct. 1 news release.
Compassus will manage the operations, which include 10 home health locations, six hospice centers, two community-based palliative care sites and one personal home care location. The expansion follows the March launch of the joint venture in Alaska, Texas and Washington.
Providence said the partnership aims to meet growing demand for home-based care, improve coordination during patient discharges and reduce hospital readmissions.
Compassus, which operates more than 300 programs in 33 states, has previously partnered with other not-for-profit health systems, including St. Louis-based Ascension and Columbus, Ohio-based OhioHealth.
