Prosper AI raises $30M amid growth spree

New York-based Prosper AI has raised $30 million in a series A financing round led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Base10 Partners and continued support from Emergence Capital, Y Combinator and Company Ventures.

The round follows six months in which the company grew revenue fivefold, expanded its customer base to more than 150,000 healthcare providers across more than 60 organizations and began powering more than $1.3 billion in patient care.

The platform addresses a problem Xavier de Gracia, the company’s co-founder and co-CEO, believes first-generation healthcare AI left unsolved.

“The first generation of healthcare voice AI focused primarily on scheduling appointments,” he said. “But scheduling is only one step in the patient journey. The harder challenge is everything that happens before a visit can actually occur: verifying insurance, coordinating with payers, and helping patients navigate billing.”

Prosper AI’s agents schedule appointments directly inside the EHR, verify insurance benefits, automate patient billing and contact insurers by phone when additional information is required. The company says the platform lowers administrative costs for providers by more than 40%. Mr. de Gracia said the platform is automating up to 60% of patient calls among partnering private equity-backed outpatient groups. Now staff have more time for complicated cases and the outpatient groups have been able to reduce costs and increase revenue by up to 10%.

“Healthcare providers don’t want separate tools for scheduling, insurance verification, and billing,” Mr. de Gracia said. “They want a single platform capable of managing the workflows that determine whether care happens and whether providers ultimately get paid. That’s what we’ve built, and it’s why providers, health systems, and healthcare technology companies are choosing Prosper AI.”

Customers include athenahealth, one of the largest ambulatory EHR platforms in the United States, and Miami-based Jackson Memorial Hospital, the second-largest hospital in Florida. Prosper AI says it wins 80% of the competitive evaluations it enters.

“What we’ve seen in the last six months is an acceleration of a momentum flywheel driven by referrals from existing customers,” said Mr. de Gracia. “Once an organization benefits from our technology, it spreads rapidly among its peers.”

Prosper AI is building a full-stack AI platform taking patients from their first scheduling call through final visit clearance, calling insurers, providing cost estimate and agentic work across APIs and documentation. Now, the company is expanding its horizons and growing the team.

“We’ve had the opportunity to bring in incredible talent from places like Harvard and MIT, as well as leaders from some of the most innovative technology companies, including Wiz, Notion and leading healthcare technology organizations,” said Mr. de Gracia. “As a founder, there’s something really special about seeing world-class people choose to join you on the mission.”

Jonathan Banta, CEO of The 44 Group and co-founder of The Executive Roundtable, a provider consortium representing more than 600 physicians, attributed that win rate to the platform’s breadth.

“We evaluated seven different vendors through an extensive RFP and live demonstration process and concluded that Prosper AI had the most comprehensive platform,” Mr. Banta said in a news release. “The difference wasn’t simply scheduling. Prosper AI was the only platform capable of handling insurance verification, patient financial responsibility, and the broader workflows required to support the entire patient journey.”

Jay Rughani, partner at Andreessen Horowitz, said the pattern of customer expansion drove the investment decision.

“What convinced us was the pattern we kept hearing from customers — providers would deploy Prosper AI for scheduling, then quickly ask them to take on insurance verification, then billing, and so on,” Mr. Rughani said. “That pull-through only happens when your technology can consistently guide patients through the care journey end-to-end.”

Prosper AI will use the new funding to expand its engineering and customer-facing teams and deepen integrations across major EHR platforms. The company is building an agentic workforce to steward the patient’s end to end journey by coordinating work across phone calls, text messages, payer portals, EHRs and more.

“For the rest of 2026, we are focused on scaling our team, specially around AI engineers, to continue leading the way on having the AI that can handle the full workflows, and go beyond scheduling,” said Mr. de Gracia. “Our key focus is to continue to make the AI agents more context aware, so they can handle more situations and just send exceptions to the team.”

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
