Intermountain Healthcare’s Healthcare Transformation Lab (Murray, Utah). Intermountain Healthcare — named one of “Health Care’s Most Wired” for 2016 by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine — opened its innovation center 10 miles south of Salt Lake City in August 2013. In 2015, Intermountain received the Microsoft Health Innovation Award for its implementation of a technology infrastructure to allow providers to communicate with one another and patients from separate locations as if they were in the same room. Also in 2015, Intermountain launched a $35 million innovation fund to support innovative companies with the mission of helping people live healthier lives.
