Hartford (Conn.) Hospital’s Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation.The Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation was launched in 1999 as Connecticut’s first simulation center. The innovation hub has since been expanded and renamed as a reflection of its comprehensive effort to revamp medical training. The facility includes 10,000 square feet of space focused on experiential training aimed at providing medical students, residents and fellows with simulated settings similar to their actual work environments, including resuscitation and trauma. The center also works with industry partners to support the research, development and design of medical products that improve patient safety and hospital operations.
