In 2021, femtech health and wellness companies received a record-breaking $2.7 billion in funding, CBInsights reported May 26.
That investment represents a 44 percent increase from 2020. While women's health tech represents only a small portion of the entire health tech industry, it is growing, with the sector expected to be worth $50 billion by 2050. The organizations in the space offer solutions and care for uniquely female health topics such as menopause and fertility, but can also extend to female focussed care for other issues like cancer.
One of the biggest investment deals was the $100 million pumped into women and family virtual care company Maven Clinic.
