The cabinets will be placed in the patient rooms to eliminate the need for registered nurses to make repeated trips to a centralized medication storage point to deliver the appropriate medication to patients. Having the cabinets in patient rooms could improve efficiency and ensure the patient receives the correct medication.
The NetLock medication cabinets utilize the IP PowerNet reader-controller to provide access privileges for medical personnel, and each cabinet can be individually assigned access privilege for the location. The system also allows monitoring of each cabinets usage, showing who accessed the cabinet at which time of day.
