1. Colorado has a statewide COVID-19 dashboard, but it doesn’t report hospital-level data. There are about a dozen states where hospital associations control COVID-19 data, according to the report.
2. The Colorado Hospital Association, which represents more than 100 hospitals across the state, collects hospital-level data but has declined to release it, citing potential HIPAA violations.
3. The NBC affiliate reported Oct. 1 that not all hospitals were reporting their daily COVID-19 statistics.
4. The Colorado health department deleted or moved charts about the percentage of hospitals reporting daily COVID-19 statistics from its COVID-19 website after NBC began questioning the accuracy of its data.
