Hospitals will continue to up spending on analytics solutions amid the rise of consumerism in healthcare, according to a BCC Research study.

The study, called “Healthcare Analytics: Technologies and Global Markets,” highlights projections for the global healthcare analytics market from 2017 through 2022.

Here are five takeaways from the study.

1. The global healthcare analytics market reached $6.2 billion last year and is projected to reach nearly $7.2 billion in 2017, according to BCC Research.

2. By 2022, the global healthcare analytics market is projected to reach $14.9 billion with a 15.8 percent compound annual growth rate.

3. BCC Research projects the clinical analytics segment of the market will reach $6.2 billion in 2022, at a 17.7 percent CAGR.

4. The financial analytics segment of the market is projected to reach $3 billion this year and rise to $5.3 billion in 2020.

5. Overall, BCC Research cites the use of predictive analytics, population analytics and clinical analytics, as well as U.S. government initiatives, as drivers of global healthcare analytics market growth.
