Dr. Eric Topol takes on new roles at Scripps' research arm

Digital health guru Eric Topol, MD, is amassing additional responsibilities at Scripps, becoming the executive vice president of the new Scripps Research Institutes, he told Politico Morning eHealth newsletter.

Dr. Topol will maintain his role as director of the La Jolla, Calif.-based Scripps Translational Science Institute, he added. Under his leadership, the STSI has created key programs in research and education to fill the gaps between science and medicine, and academia and industry.

Scripps' new research arm will align with its National Institutes of Health research programs, which includes its precision medicine initiatives, Politico reports.
