Dr. Topol will maintain his role as director of the La Jolla, Calif.-based Scripps Translational Science Institute, he added. Under his leadership, the STSI has created key programs in research and education to fill the gaps between science and medicine, and academia and industry.
Scripps’ new research arm will align with its National Institutes of Health research programs, which includes its precision medicine initiatives, Politico reports.
