Ithaca-based Cayuga Health’s Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca and Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls had to divert patients for about four hours because of the network outage. Most of Cayuga Health’s major IT systems were restored by the following morning.

CHS defensively isolated several systems and utilized downtime procedures to ensure system integrity,” a Cayuga Health spokesperson told Becker’s. “There was no negative impact to patients. We are caring for patients in both our inpatient and outpatient practices [Feb. 19] without any further interruption.”

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
