System granted $45M line of credit as cash flow dwindles after Change Healthcare cyberattack

New Bern, N.C.-based CarolinaEast Health System will receive $45 million as it is experiencing cash flow issues due to the Feb. 21 cyberattack on Change Healthcare, News 12 reported April 3.

The Local Government Commission, a state agency, is giving a $45 million unsecured line of credit to CarolinaEast Health System. The system will use the funds to cover day-to-day operational costs.

Change Healthcare provides claims management services to CarolinaEast.
