The employee is accused of inappropriately disclosing the protected health information of patients in motor vehicle accidents between 2016 and November 2019. NYC Health + Hospitals announced the investigation Dec. 2.
Patient data that may have been exposed includes names and telephone numbers.
NYC Health + Hospitals is recommending that patients who were in vehicle accidents and treated at the health system during the time being investigated contact the system for more information.
