Novant Health hospital Twitter hijacked, forcing it to shut down account

Wilmington, N.C.-based New Hanover Regional Medical Center, an affiliate of Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health, shut down its Twitter account after a hacker took it over, ABC affiliate WWAY reported Nov. 15.

Three details:

1. The account’s Twitter handle was renamed to “@cjjohnso17th” after it was hacked, with the username “Wealth Squad Chris,” WWAY reported.

2. The account is now suspended, according to the Twitter landing page.

3. On Nov. 15, the hospital confirmed to WWAY that its Twitter account was hacked and it is working to resolve the issue.
