New York City hospital resumes normal operations after cyberattack

New York City-based Richmond University Medical Center has fully recovered from a ransomware attack that caused multiweek disruptions, silive.com reported June 12.

The cyberattack in the first week of May led to manual data entry, and nurses were assigned to monitor patients in person.

"Our hospital and all of our outpatient facilities are operating normally and at full service," Meredith Gaskins, a spokeswoman for the hospital, told silive.com. "We are continuing our investigation into this incident alongside third-party cybersecurity experts and any potential impact to hospital information is ongoing."
