On May 16, NextGen notified Lurie Children’s that an unknown third party gained access to “a limited set of electronically stored patient data between March 29, 2023, and April 14, 2023,” according to a breach notification from the health system.
Lurie Children’s patient data was among the information breached.
According to Lurie, the type of patient information compromised in the attack include names, dates of birth, addresses and some patients’ Social Security numbers. No medical records were compromised, according to the billing provider.
NextGen is notifying all impacted individuals.
