Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare is facing the fifth lawsuit from patients relating to a July data breach that compromised the information of 11 million patients, law.com reported Aug. 4.
The lawsuit accuses the health system of failing to implement adequate data security procedures.
The data theft from HCA affected 171 hospitals across 19 states. According to law.com, the class-action lawsuit is the third filed this week.
The lawsuit was filed in federal court in Tennessee's Middle District.
