Georgia health system's operations disrupted by cyberattack

A cyberattack disrupted Warner Robins, Ga.-based Houston Healthcare's operations; the health system was able to remain open and care for patients using its backup processes and downtime procedures.

The health system is currently working with a third party to investigate the incident and bring its systems back online, according to a March 3 Houston Healthcare news release.

A recent report by Aaron Weismann, chief information security officer of Radnor Township, Pa.-based Main Line Health, found that Georgia was the ninth worst state for data breaches.
