According to a Jan. 3 press release from the hospital, an unauthorized person gained access to patient health insurance, clinical and demographic information in the July breach. Patient social security numbers were unaffected.
The provider, Perry Johnson & Associates, worked with both the hospital and Meritas Health Corp., its subsidiary. After investigation into the breach and implementation of new safeguards in the system, the hospital and Meritas say they will no longer work with PJ&A.
