From EHR shutdowns to technical problems related to an IT security issue, here are five hospitals and health systems that have been affected by a cybersecurity incident since Dec. 21:

  1. CentraState Medical Center in Freehold. N.J., reported experiencing technical problems related to an IT security issue on Dec. 30.

  2. Nashville, Ark.-based Howard Memorial Hospital reported hackers may have stolen files from its network during a Dec. 4 cyberattack.

  3. Lake Charles (La.) Health System alerted patients about an October cybersecurity event in which an unauthorized third party gained access to its network.

  4. Watertown, S.D.-based Prairie Lakes Healthcare System notified 1,059 patients that their information may have been compromised due to a third-party data breach at its business associate and collections vendor, AAA Collections.

  5. New York City-based One Brooklyn Health's hospitals reported they were still recovering from a November ransomware attack. On Dec. 20, the health system said 80 percent of applications were restored from the attack, but staff were still working with paper charting as the EHR system had yet to fully recover from the incident.
