Beazley Breach Response Services saw an 18 percent increase in ransomware incidents across industries worldwide in 2017, according to Beazley’s 2018 Breach Briefing.

Here is a breakdown of ransomware incidents in seven major industries:

• Healthcare: 45 percent
• Financial: 12 percent
• Professional services: 12 percent
• Manufacturing: 7 percent
• Education: 6 percent
• Retail: 6 percent
• Hospitality: 4 percent
• Other: 8 percent
