10 ransomware groups frequently targeting healthcare

HHS’ Health Sector Cybersecurity Coordination Center released a list April 5 highlighting the top 10 ransomware groups targeting the healthcare sector.

According to the report, out of the recorded 730 attacks on the healthcare and public health sector globally, more than 530 incidents affected the U.S. 

Here are the 10 most active ransomware groups in the healthcare sector:

  1. LockBit 3.0
  2. ALPHV aka BlackCat
  3. BianLian
  4. Akira Ransomware
  5. BlackSuit 
  6. Hunters International 
  7. Medusa
  8. NoEscape 
  9. INC RANSOM 
  10. Meow Ransomware
