Amazon adds new health features, programs for Halo wearable device: 6 details 

Amazon is rolling out three new healthcare-centric updates to its Amazon Halo wearable device focused on improving users’ access to their vitals data and nutritional health, the company announced Sept. 27.

Six things to know: 

1. Amazon launched Halo, its first health-tracking device, in August 2020. The retail giant also has a partnership with Cerner that lets Halo users share their data directly into their healthcare providers’ EHR system. 

2. Amazon is launching a new Halo View wearable device that lets users more easily access their health metrics on activity, sleep scores, blood oxygen levels, heart rate and skin temperature through a new screen display. 

3. The retail company also is rolling out Halo Fitness, a service that offers users hundreds of workouts, including cardio, strength, yoga, outdoor and mobility classes. 

4. Amazon’s new Halo Nutrition program offers users personalized tools to find new healthy recipes or create weekly eating plans. 

5. Halo Fitness and Halo Nutrition both are offered through Amazon’s Halo membership, which is available in the Halo app. 

6. Halo Fitness content will start rolling out to members in the Halo app later this year, and Halo Nutrition will become available in January 2022.
