Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Chair and CEO Saum Sutaria, MD, received $24.7 million in total compensation in 2024, up nearly 33% year over year, according to an April 11 proxy statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Dr. Sutaria’s compensation package included a $500,000 bonus, more than $15.1 million in stock awards and $6.8 million in non-equity incentives, reflecting Tenet’s strong financial performance in 2024 and its ongoing efforts to align executive compensation with shareholder value.
Joining Dr. Sutaria among the health system’s top earners is Executive Vice President and CFO Sun Park, who stepped into the role on Jan. 1, 2024, and received $4.7 million in total compensation last year. Mr. Park’s first year as CFO came amid Tenet’s continued margin improvements and portfolio realignment across its hospital and ambulatory segments.
Tenet reported an operating income of $6 billion (28.8% margin) on revenues of $20.7 billion in 2024, up from $2.5 billion (12.2% margin) on revenues of $20.5 billion in 2023. Net income was $4.1 billion in 2024, up 210% from $1.3 billion the year prior.
