Sanford Health to guarantee salaries for deployed employees for 1 year

Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health pledged to provide financial support to employees during military deployment.

Sanford Health will pay the salary difference between what those employees receive while deployed and what they would receive during their civilian work. The program will cover qualified deployments for up to one year.

"We firmly believe our employees who also serve our country should not have to navigate a disruption in their income during a deployment. It's our way of saying thank you, and we believe it's an effective tool to retain and attract veterans who bring an attractive skill set and perspective to our organization," Paul Weckman, head of diversity, inclusion, and military and veterans affairs for Sanford Health, said in a news release.
