During a Sept. 26 meeting with lawmakers, leaders from both hospitals said some contracted physicians hadn’t been paid in recent weeks. Sen. Saud Anwar was in attendance at the meeting and recounted details from the discussion, which noted the cyberattack exacerbated an already challenging financial situation.
“I know [some of] the hospital doctors have not been getting paid. Many of them are planning to leave,” Mr. Anwar told the CT Mirror. The report also noted the hospitals owe $40 million to vendors, and some have them on a credit hold and won’t do more business until their balances are paid.
The hospital leaders met with lawmakers to request a speedy approval of Prospect Medical’s sale of the hospitals to Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health, which was announced last year.
