CEO Named for North Carolina’s MedWest Health System

Mike Poore has been appointed CEO of MedWest Health System in Clyde, N.C., according to a release from Haywood Regional Medical Center, a hospital in the MedWest system.

Mr. Poore will serve as chief executive for the newly formed affiliation between Haywood Regional, Harris Regional and Swain County hospitals. He currently serves as CEO of Haywood Regional and will start in his new position on Jan. 1, 2010, according to the release.

Prior to coming to Haywood Regional, Mr. Poore served as senior vice president and administrator for Wellstar Douglas and Wellstar Paulding hospitals and the Paulding Nursing Facility in Atlanta and as vice president and administrator for Wellstar Douglas Hospital in Douglasville, Ga., according to the release.

Mr. Poore was unanimously voted as CEO by the 14-member MedWest board of trustees.
