New Maricopa Health System CEO Could Earn $650k

The board of Maricopa Integrated Health System in Phoenix has signed off on a compensation deal for new CEO Steve Purves, who can potentially make upwards of $650,000 per year in salary and bonuses, according to an Arizona Republic report.

Maricopa hired Mr. Purves in June. He currently serves as president and CEO of Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Fla., where his base salary is roughly $465,000.

Under the deal with Maricopa, Mr. Purves' salary would be $525,000 per year, and he could earn up to $125,000 per year in performance-based bonuses, according to the report.

Maricopa drew criticism earlier this year after it awarded retiring CEO Betsey Bayless a $125,000 raise, a move she said she neither requested nor expected.
