According to a News-Press report, Mr. Nathan decided to reject the raise as other Lee Memorial top executives go through a pay freeze. The rest of the health system’s 10,000 employees are eligible for merit-based salary raises.
In 2011, Mr. Nathan did not accept a $30,000 raise as the organization went through a systemwide salary freeze. Currently, he makes about $808,000 per year, and he could potentially recoup the rejected raises as deferred compensation.
