• Coders with at least 15 years of experience had an average salary of $56,667.
• Certified professional compliance officers made $69,138 on average.
• Average salaries for certified professional billers were $61,667.
• Certified professional medical auditors earned $61,115 per year.
• Certified professional practice managers had average salaries totaling $59,619.
• Certified professional coders (payers) made $57,995, a shade higher than certified professional coders (hospital outpatient), which was $56,284.
• Coders in solo and small group practices earned an average salary of $42,202, whereas as coders in health systems made $48,789.
