Officials for SVHC, which includes 99-bed Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, said the staffing changes are a part of the system’s goal to cut $5 million in operating expenses, according to the report. Buyout packages have also been offered to some employees.
The report did not specify how many actual layoffs there were, although no physicians have been cut.
