CareerCast: 7 of 10 highest paying jobs in 2017 go to healthcare

Surgeons rank No. 1 on the list of 2017’s highest paying jobs, with six other healthcare professions making the top 10, according to a CareerCast report.

To compile the list, CareerCast gathered annual median income data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Here’s how the seven healthcare professions ranked according to annual median salary.

No. 1 — Surgeon: $409,665

No. 2 — Orthodontist: $208,000

No. 3 — Psychiatrist: $194,740

No. 4 — General practice physician: $190,490

No. 6 — Dentist: $153,900

No. 8 — Podiatrist: $124,830

No. 10 — Pharmacist: $122,230
