Adventist Health System CEO, CFO Made Combined $5.2M in 2011

The two top executives at Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System — President and CEO Donald Jernigan, PhD, and CFO/COO Terry Shaw — received a combined $5.2 million in compensation in 2011, according to the system's latest Form 990.

The form, accessed via Guidestar, showed that Dr. Jernigan earned $1.98 million. Mr. Shaw's compensation totaled $3.19 million. The document did not break down their total compensation figures into salary, incentives and deferred compensation.

Adventist Health System operates 44 hospitals across several states. Its flagship hospital, Florida Hospital in Orlando, is one of the largest hospitals in the country with 2,200 beds across seven campuses. Lars Houmann, CEO of the Florida Division, earned $1.84 million in 2011, according to the document.
