Average physician’s earnings grew 9.6 percent from 1987 to 2010, from $143,963 to $157,751, researchers found. In comparison, pharmacist earnings grew by 44 percent and dentist earnings increased by 23 percent in the same time period.
The study surveyed 30,556 healthcare professionals, including 6,258 physicians, over 14 years.
